Vergennes Union High School and Winooski High School engaged in a back-and-forth affair in boys’ basketball. The Spartans forced the game beyond regulation, but a 7-1 overtime run for the Commodores lifted them to the 61-58 overtime victory. Vergennes featured three players finishing in double figures. Ryan Wright led the charge with a team-high 19 points, scoring 15 of his 19 in the second half of play. Ryker Mosehauer and Cohen Howell also chipped in with 14 points apiece. Omar Turnage converted a layup that forced the game into overtime. He would finish with a game-high 22 points for Winooski. Mohammed Hussein and Oliver Mathys-Vallario also finished in double figures with 14 and 11 points, respectively. South Burlington High School trailed 3-0 early, but a 14-0 run at the start against Colchester High School led to a 63-51 victory for the Wolves over the Lakers.
