Lillie Alston scored a game-high 20 points and London Bennett added 18 points with 15 rebounds as Ewing defeated Marlboro 65-48 in a non-conference matchup Saturday morning in Ewing.
Ewing (13-7) took control early, building a 20-12 first-quarter lead and extended the advantage to 35-20 by halftime. Bennett nearly recorded a triple-double, adding six assists and four steals to her impressive rebounding total.
Mackenzie Klatsky led Marlboro (13-7) with 17 points, including three 3-pointers, while Hayley Albert contributed 12 points on four shots from beyond the arc.
Ewing dominated the glass, grabbing 50 rebounds for the game. Analis Maldonado grabbed 14 rebounds and scored 10 points, while Taylor Williams also recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Despite Marlboro connecting on 13 3-pointers in the game, Ewing’s inside presence proved too much to overcome. Ewing outscored Marlboro 18-12 in the final quarter to secure the victory.
