ATLANTA — Atlanta Hawks forward Jonathan Kuminga, an NBA trade deadline acquisition, will miss at least one week while recovering from a bone bruise in his left knee.

The Hawks announced before Saturday night’s home game against the Charlotte Hornet that Kuminga suffered the injury while playing for the Golden State Warriors in a road game against the Dallas Mavericks on Jan. 22. The Hawks acquired Kuminga and guard Buddy Hield in the trade that sent center Kristaps Porzingis to the Warriors on Wednesday night.

The Hawks said Kuminga will be evaluated after the upcoming break for the NBA All-Star Game, which is next weekend.

Atlanta forward/center Onyeka Okongwu was available against Charlotte, though, after missing four games with a dental fracture.

Okongwu, who wore a protective mask, started and played 31 minutes while totaling 16 points with four 3-pointers, six rebounds, two blocks and two assists as the Hawks lost 126-119 to the Hornets, who pushed their winning streak to nine games.

Jalen Johnson had 31 points, nine rebounds and eight assists for Atlanta, which had won six of its past eight games entering the matchup.
