Additionally, Charlotte had an opportunity to close the gap in the Eastern Conference standings, trailing the Hawks by 1.5 games for the No. 9 seed.

After going into halftime tied up, Charlotte made a run in the third quarter, outscoring Atlanta by eight, 38-30 and ultimately won by a seven-point margin.

Miles Bridges starred in the victory, scoring a team-high 26 points on an efficient 10-for-14 from the field. Rookie sensation Kon Knueppel added 23 points as well, knocking down 6-of-11 three-pointers.

That said, it was Moussa Diabate who dominated on the glass once again, finishing with a double-double, posting 11 points and 15 rebounds. Of his 15 boards, five came on the offensive glass.

Following the game, Diabate spoke about his team and the win streak, saying: “I think we’re really finding our identity.”

“What we’ve been preaching this summer is really what is showing now. Playing fast, running the floor, communicating on defense, being physical, being active—all those things are really coming together.”

With the win, Charlotte is now 25-28, climbing back toward .500. Additionally, the Hornets are now just two games behind eighth place in the conference.

Now, the Hornets are one game away from tying their longest win streak in franchise history (10 games). However, their next matchup will be tough as Charlotte is scheduled to face the No. 1 team in the Eastern Conference (Detroit).
