The NBA G League announced during the team’s home stand last week that Osceola Magic guard Lester Quiñones has been named to the NBA G League Next Up Game during the NBA All-Star weekend.

The game will be on Sunday, Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. ET in Los Angeles and will air on the NBA Channel, available on leading platforms (Roku, Samsung, Tubi, Pluto, Fire TV, Prime Video, Xumo, Fubo, Xfinity, DirecTV and DISH).

Quiñones proved worthy of the selection Friday on Ranchers Night at the Silver Spurs Arena. He scored 18 of his game-high 26 points in the fourth quarter to lead the Magic (14-4) to a gritty 119-114 victory over the Noblesville Boom. That win closed out a six-game home stand in which the Magic were 5-1.

“We’re super excited for Lester; he’s definitely earned this,” says Magic General Manager Kevin Tiller. “Just incredible buy-in to what we’re trying to do for him. Obviously, he’s been in the NBA (with Golden State, Philadelphia and New Orleans) and has been through the ups and downs. For him to come here, contribute to winning and buy into his new role, we’re happy to see it pay off for him.”

Quiñones will join Kennedy Chandler (Delaware), Dillon Jones (Westchester), Skal Labissière (Capital City), A.J. Lawson (Raptors) and Jahmir Young (Sioux Falls) on Team Red for the all-star event.

Quiñones has started all 31 games spanning the Tip-Off Tournament and regular season for the Magic while averaging 22 points, 5.4 rebounds and three assists per game. The former Memphis Tiger is shooting a career-high 48.6 percent from the field.

The Magic are now on the All-Star break and lead (Toronto) Raptors by 1.5 games in the G League Eastern Conference and will return to the Silver Spurs Arena on Wednesday, Feb. 25 against the Cleveland Charge.
