Charlotte (25-28) will host Detroit (38-13) Monday in the NBA. Tipoff between the Hornets and Pistons is slated for 7 p.m. EST at Spectrum Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
The contest will feature three former Vols: Grant Williams (Charlotte), Tobias Harris (Detroit) and Chaz Lanier (Detroit).
Williams played at Tennessee from 2016-19. He was a two-time SEC Player of the Year, 2019 NCAA unanimous first team All-American and a two-time SEC Player of the Year.
On May 17, 2019, Williams announced he would forgo his senior season and enter the NBA draft. He was selected by Boston in the first round of the 2019 NBA draft (No. 22 overall).
Williams appeared in 104 games, including 101 starts, for the Vols and averaged 15.7 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.

Harris played one season at Tennessee (2010-11) under head coach Bruce Pearl. He averaged 15.3 points and 7.3 assists per game. Harris was a Second-Team All-SEC performer and a member of the SEC All-Freshman Team.
The former Vol was selected in the first round of the 2011 NBA draft (No. 19 overall) by the Charlotte Bobcats. In his NBA career, Harris has played for Milwaukee (2011-13), Orlando (2013-16), Detroit (2016-18, 2024-25), the Clippers (2018-19) and Philadelphia (2019-24).
Lanier played one season at Tennessee after transferring from North Florida.
During the 2024-25 basketball season, the 6-foot-5, 207-pound guard appeared in 38 games, including 38 starts, for the Vols. Lanier averaged 18.0 points, 3.9 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game.
He converted 243-of-564 field goal attempts, 123-of-311 three-point attempts and 75-of-99 free throw attempts at Tennessee.
