Charlie Cummings updates on the Minnesota Timberwolves-Atlanta Hawks fight, details who was ejected, and speculates on possible suspensions.
We’ve got another live one. It’s fight night in the NBA, and this time it’s the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Atlanta Hawks getting into a tussle.
Naz Reid and Mouhamed Gueye were on the card tonight. Both players were ejected from the game; no other punishments were handed out.
Reid has previously been suspended for fighting; he got into a knuckle-chucking contest with Pistons forward Ron Holland II last March. His previous offender status may lengthen any suspension he faces for his role. Gueye has no such history and would be considered a first-time offender.
Typically, any scuffle that results in an ejection results in a one or two-game suspension for the offending parties. But this one is trickier for two reasons. First is Reid’s status as a previous scrapper, and second is that no punches were really thrown. Perhaps the NBA decides that the ejections were punishment enough; only time will tell.
Stay tuned to the DraftKings Network for updates on Reid and Gueye in the aftermath of the fight.
