Stephon Castle, San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers ($7,400)
I know, I know. It’s a little point-chasey since Castle is coming off an 84-FPTS game in which he put up a triple-double with 40 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists. I’m not expecting a repeat of that performance, but it does show the accessible ceiling. The beauty of Castle is that he contributes in every statistical category, so the floor is relatively high. Plus, the price is more than palatable. The Lakers are 22nd in defensive rating and not particularly athletic, so Castle should have plenty of chances to produce fantasy goodies.
Other Options: Jalen Brunson ($8,800), Andrew Nembhard ($7,300), Josh Hart ($7,100), Tari Eason ($6,400)
Value
Jose Alvarado, New York Knicks vs. Indiana Pacers ($3,500)
In his Knicks debut, Alvarado played 25 minutes and produced 24 FPTS. That game was a blowout, so the likely expectation is somewhere around 20 minutes. That said, he contributes a little something in every statistical category and the price is cheap. Indiana is ninth in pace and 21st in defensive rating while Alvarado should get the MSG boost.
Other Options: Brandon Williams ($5,000)
Forward
Stud
Kawhi Leonard, Los Angeles Clippers at Houston Rockets ($10,000)
The price and matchup aren’t great as Houston is sixth in defensive rating. IDC! The Kawhibot 2026 is playing at an incredibly high level, and the usage has spiked with James Harden now in Cleveland. Leonard has a usage rate of 34.3% on the season. In the first game without Harden, Leonard garnered a massive 49.5% usage rate! L.O.L. Oh, by the way, all he did was score 41 points and finish with 63.5 FPTS.
Other Options: Alperen Sengun ($9,500), Josh Hart ($7,100), Jabari Smith Jr. ($6,900), Dillon Brooks ($6,600)
Value
Jarace Walker, Indiana Pacers at New York Knicks ($5,500)
Walker was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, but he didn’t do much in his first two seasons. This time around, he spent all summer working out with Pascal Siakam and was a significant part of the rotation early on, but the playing time dissipated into the teens. Since the end of January, though, Walker has gotten back into the mix and been playing 27.9 minutes over his last nine games. Over that span, Walker has put up at least 30 FPTS in six of those games. With Johnny Furphy now out for the season and Aaron Nesmith questionable, Walker should continue seeing near 30 minutes.
Other Options: Devin Vassell ($5,700), Micah Potter ($3,500)
Center
Stud
Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs at Los Angeles Lakers ($9,700)
The playing time and fantasy production have been maddeningly inconsistent recently for Wembanyama. Over the last five games, he’s played fewer than 30 minutes three times and gone below 40 FPTS twice, with a low of 28.5 FPTS. That said, he also went for 64.2 FPTS and is always in play for those heights because Wembanyama can literally stuff every statistical category, especially the defensive ones. The Lakers don’t play good defense, so there should be plenty of opportunities for fantasy goodies.
Other Options: Alperen Sengun ($9,500)
Value
Daniel Gafford, Dallas Mavericks at Phoenix Suns ($4,900)
Gafford only played 18 minutes and finished with 17 FPTS last game, but that’s because he was in foul trouble. In the prior three games, Gafford played 33, 25 and 28 minutes, putting up at least 32 FPTS in all with a high of 47 FPTS.
Other Options: Marvin Bagley III ($4,700), Micah Potter ($3,500), Ariel Hukporti ($3,000)
