Welcome to the Morning Commute
Today we’re talking about Mizzou Hoops
Mizzou Basketball kept their at-large NCAA Tournament hopes alive after a 78-59 road win over South Carolina on Saturday afternoon. From Sam Snelling’s Study Hall:
It’s a good win. If Mizzou has any interest in remaining on the conversation for the NCAA Tournament, they needed to win this one. There are too many blemishes on their resume. Any road win you can pick up is a good one from here on out.
The Tigers improved to 16-7 overall and 6-4 in SEC play as we enter mid-February.

Per the latest bracketology projections, Missouri is trending the right side of the bubble — but barely. CBS Sports currently has Mizzou as the Last Four In — facing St. Mary’s in the First Four in Dayton.
The Field of 68’s latest bracketology released on Monday also has Mizzou as the Last Four In — matching up with California in Dayton.
The team one spot ahead of Missouri is Texas — which shapes up to be a pivotal game between the Tigers and Longhorns on Saturday night at Mizzou Arena.
Up next for Mizzou is a tough matchup at Texas A&M tomorrow night (8:00 p.m. CST tip-off on SEC Network).

And in case if you missed it — a great postgame interview from Jayden Stone.

Would we rather our former QBs be leading the charge to a Super Bowl ring? Sure. But it’s still nice to see our True Sons succeed. Congrats, Drew, who has had an especially hard year after the passing of his father Andy in April.
Good for Drew Lock in what was such an emotional year for him.
A statement victory for Mizzou Gymnastics — who now rank inside the Top 10 in all events for the first time in program history. Just a complete team. EDITOR’S NOTE: NOW GO SUPPORT THEM AND WATCH THEM AT MIZZOU ARENA. I PROMISE IT’S SO FUN, YOU GUYS.
Things only get more difficult going forward
KenPom projects Mizzou to finish 19-12 overall and 9-9 in the SEC. Little room for error.
