Memphis Grizzlies rookie Cedric Coward is doubtful to play on Feb. 11 against the Denver Nuggets (8 p.m. CT, FanDuel Sports Network) at Ball Arena.
Coward was injured Feb. 9 against the Golden State Warriors at Chase Center after jumping for a rebounding and coming down awkwardly late in the second quarter. He limped off the floor and did not return.

Memphis has been careful with its usage of Coward this season. He was acquired with the No. 11 pick in the 2025 draft after he played just six games because of injuries last season at Washington State.
Coward had a stress reaction in his foot after he had a “funny feeling” following the Nov. 12 game against the Boston Celtics. He didn’t miss any time following the injury.
Coward is averaging 13.3 points and 6.2 rebounds in 48 games played. He has missed only four games this season.
The matchup against the Nuggets will be the Grizzlies’ last game before the Feb. 13-15 All-Star break. Memphis will return to action on Feb. 20 against the Utah Jazz at FedExForum (7 p.m. CT, FanDuel Sports Network).Damichael Cole is the Memphis Grizzlies beat writer for The Commercial Appeal.
