The Toronto Raptors aim to close the gap on the top of the Eastern Conference standings with a third straight win when they host the first-place Detroit Pistons on Wednesday night in the final date of a five-game home stand at Scotiabank Arena.

The Raptors are coming off a decisive 122-104 victory over the Indiana Pacers on Super Bowl Sunday to maintain sole possession of fifth place in the East, eight games back of Detroit. The Pistons travel to Toronto after opening a four-game road trip with Monday’s 110-104 win in Charlotte that lifts them to 6-1 SU in their past seven away contests.

The Pistons have emerged as slim 1.5-point road favourites on Wednesday’s NBA odds. The Raptors lag as +100 underdogs on the NBA moneyline, and the total is pegged at 222.5.

Pistons vs. Raptors NBA Betting Odds

The Raptors head into the first of three dates with the Pistons this season riding a six-game head-to-head losing streak, capped by a 117-105 defeat on home hardwood back on April 5. Toronto has fallen to defeat by 8+ points in each of their past three dates with the Pistons but have enjoyed moderate success on home court, going 3-2 SU in their past five meetings.

However, the Raptors have been a major betting disappointment when facing Detroit in recent seasons, going 3-14 ATS in 17 clashes since January 2020. Fortunately, that trend does not extend to the club’s recent contest, with Toronto covering in three straight outings and seven of 10 overall. The club has also won outright in three of their past five as home underdogs while going 4-1 ATS over that stretch.

The Pistons have gotten 2026 off to a torrid start, going 14-4 since suffering a New Year’s Day loss to Miami, and now enjoy a comfortable 5.5-game lead over second-place Boston in the East. However, the club has produced mixed results on the NBA odds, going just 10-8 ATS during their current tear, but currently enjoy a 5-2 ATS run on the road.

But things have not gone totally as planned when pegged as road chalk, with Detroit winning just four of seven and covering in just three of their past eight.

Detroit Pistons

After spotting the Hornets an early lead, the Pistons found a higher gear on their way to a 110-104 win. As has regularly been the case this season, Cade Cunning ham led the charge, compiling 33 points and nine rebounds, and has now tallied 29+ points in three of his past four outings and averaged 27 points per game on the road this season. However, the former first overall pick in the NBA draft has struggled at times versus Toronto, reaching 30 points just once while averaging 20.8 points over his past five appearances.

Overall, five Pistons shooters tallied double-digit point totals in Charlotte including big man Duncan Robinson, who contributed 18 points and reached that number three times in the past four games. Jalen Duran contributed 15 points versus the team that drafted him 13th overall in 2022 and looks to have rebounded from a knee injury that forced him to make an early exit from the Pistons’ 126-117 loss to Washington last week and miss last Friday’s 118-80 rout of the New York Knicks. Indeed, Duran proved fit enough to engage in fisticuffs with Charlotte’s Moussa Diabate but has yet to face league discipline.

Toronto Raptors

It was all Scottie Barnes on Sunday afternoon, as the Raptors forward turned in one of his best performances of the new year in the club’s victory over Indiana with 25 points, 14 boards, and six assists. The effort is welcome considering some of the inconsistent results Barnes has produced of late, recording double-doubles in four of his past seven outings but topping 20 points just twice in his past eight appearances.

Barnes’ big night was also timely considering Brandon Ingram was limited to just 13 points and five boards in just 26 minutes of play. But after being named as an NBA All-Star Game replacement for Stephen Curry, Ingram is poised to bounce back and offers intriguing value on the NBA Player Props as a +230 bet to score 25+ points for the sixth time in eight games. With 20 points, RJ Barrett has ow scored 20+ in two of three outings and looks ready to take on more responsibility in a crucial clash for the Raptors.
