Jesahi Robinson scored 20 points, marking his third 20+ point game of the season, as Palmyra pulled away for a 58-40 victory over Northern Burlington in Columbus.
After trailing 11-8 at the end of the first quarter, Palmyra (17-5) dominated the middle periods, outscoring Northern Burlington 42-15 in the second and third quarters combined to take control of the game.
Palmyra currently has the third-most power points in South Jersey, Group 1 with the top 16 teams qualifying for the state tournament. Northern Burlington has the ninth-most in Central Jersey, Group 3.
Julian Corry added 12 points for the Panthers, while Da’Shon Edmonds contributed 10 points including two 3-pointers. Zacharius Michel chipped in 9 points, going 3-of-6 from the free-throw line.
Northern Burlington (14-9) was led by Quincy Washington with 15 points and Erick Torres with 13 points, including three shots from beyond the arc. Despite a strong effort in the fourth quarter where they outscored Palmyra 14-8, the Greyhounds couldn’t overcome their scoring drought in the middle quarters.
Palmyra travels to face Bordentown at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 13. Northern Burlington travels to face Moorestown at 6 p.m. on Feb. 13 in the first round of the Burlington County Tournament.
