Miami Heat guard Norman Powell will suit up for Team World for the 2026 All-Star Game, NBA insider Chris Haynes first reported days before the event.

Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox, who will represent USA, replaced Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo (calf) hours before Haynes’ report. Thus, a spot opened up for Team World.
Powell, 31, competed for Team Jamaica in the FIBA World Cup qualifiers last summer.
He was named to his first career All-Star game earlier this month. He is averaging 23.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals in 30.6 minutes per game. He’s shooting 47.4 percent from the floor, 39.6 percent from 3-point range and 84.3 percent from the charity stripe.
Ironically enough, All-Star weekend will be held in Inglewood, Calif., inside Intuit Dome, the Los Angeles Clippers’ home arena. Before getting traded to Miami in July, Powell spent the previous three-and-a-half seasons with the Clippers.
The league is debuting a new Team USA v. World concept this year, where three teams (two USA, one World) will compete in a three-team Round Robin before competing in an All-Star game championship. The annual spectacle will begin Sunday, Feb. 15, at 5 p.m. EST.
Powell was the lone Heat player to be named an All-Star this year. A few of his teammates will be Spurs sensation Victor Wembanyama (France), Lakers’ superstar Luka Doncic (Slovenia) and Nuggets guard Jamal Murray (Canada).
