The Cleveland Cavaliers will make a significant impact at the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, with Mitchell leading as an All-Star and 3-Point Contest competitor.
CLEVELAND — The Cleveland Cavaliers will be well represented on one of the biggest stages as the league heads to Los Angeles for the 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend.
Cavaliers star guard Mitchell was named a 2026 NBA All-Star, which the league announced following the conclusion of fan, player and media voting. Mitchell will represent Cleveland in the newly formatted NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, Feb. 15, which tips off at 5 p.m. ET and will air on WKYC.
The All-Star Game will be played at the Intuit Dome, home of the Los Angeles Clippers.
The 2026 NBA All-Star Game introduces a new structure featuring three teams instead of two. According to the NBA, the format includes two teams made up of U.S. players and one World team, competing in a round-robin mini-tournament. Each game will last 12 minutes, with the top two teams based on record and total points scored advancing to a championship game.
Mitchell will also represent the Cavaliers in the NBA All-Star 3-Point Contest, adding another marquee appearance to his All-Star Weekend schedule.
Mitchell is one of eight players selected to compete in the annual shooting contest. The field also includes Booker (Phoenix), Knueppel (Charlotte), Lillard (Portland), Maxey (Philadelphia), Murray (Denver), Portis (Milwaukee) and Powell (Miami).
The entry list features two former winners of the event: Booker, who won in 2018, and Lillard, who captured the title in both 2023 and 2024.
The 3-Point Contest will be broadcast live on WKYC on Saturday, Feb. 14 at 5 p.m. ET.
Rising Stars and G League representation
Cleveland’s presence will extend beyond the main All-Star Game.
Cavaliers wing Jaylon Tyson has been selected to compete in the 2026 Castrol Rising Stars event, which highlights the league’s top first- and second-year players. The Rising Stars Challenge features a mini-tournament with four teams and three games.
That event will follow the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game at 9 p.m. on Feb. 13 and will be broadcast on Peacock, according to the league.
In addition, Hayes and Omier, who play for the Cavaliers’ G League affiliate, the Cleveland Charge, were selected to participate in the NBA G League Next Up Game.Â
The game is scheduled for Feb. 15 at 2:30 p.m. ET and will stream on the NBA Channel across several free ad-supported streaming platforms, including Roku, Samsung TV Plus, Tubi, Pluto TV and DirecTV.
