Brought back after a decade-plus absence, the NBA resurrected the Shooting Stars competition for Saturday’s All-Star weekend event. Chet Holmgren was part of the contest as he teamed up with Scottie Barnes and Richard Hamilton for Team All-Star.
The other three teams included were Team Cameron with Jalen Johnson, Kon Knueppel and Corey Magette; Team Harper with Dylan Harper, Ron Harper Jr. ad Ron Harper; Team Knicks with Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns and Allan Houston.
It’s a timed shooting competition of just two rounds. The four teams will compete in the first round before it’s dwindled to just two. Teams will compete one at a time and will have 70 seconds to score points from seven different locations on the court.
Teams will shoot in a set order. All three members will shoot at each location. Team All-Star had a pretty bad showing, as online celebrity Druski was their designated passer. They only had 16 points as Holmgren only made a layup and missed all of his jumpers. They didn’t advance past the opening round.
The top highest-scoring teams advanced to the finals. From there, whoever finished with the higher score won the Saturday event. Team Knicks came away as the winner with 47 points in the finals.

It’s been a busy 2026 NBA All-Star weekend for the Oklahoma City Thunder. They had two All-Star players with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Holmgren. Although the former is sidelined from Sunday’s game due to injury, he still talked to the media at Saturday’s Media Day.
Holmgren will suit up for one of Team USA’s squads at Sunday’s NBA All-Star Game, which will be a three-team round-robin tournament. Two teams are filled with U.S. players, while the other team is labeled as Team World for the international players.
