Jackson Township used a dominant second quarter to secure a 52-39 victory over Middletown North in Jackson.

Isabella Finer led the way for Jackson Township with 12 points, including 4-of-5 shooting from the free-throw line. Julianna Old was a force on the boards, pulling down a game-high 16 rebounds while adding 9 points for Jackson Township (14-9).

After trailing 8-6 at the end of the first quarter, Jackson Township took control with a 21-5 run in the second quarter to build a 27-13 halftime advantage. The home team continued its strong play in the third quarter, outscoring Middletown North 15-11.

Danielle Gonzalez paced Middletown North (8-15) with 11 points, while Kaelyn Gibson contributed 10 points and 4 rebounds. Hope Yetman added 8 points and a team-high 7 rebounds for the visitors.

Jackson Township dominated the glass, outrebounding Middletown North 40-19. The home team also forced 14 steals, with Kaylee Ambos, Avery Brooks, Julianna Old and Mya Grzyb each recording 3 steals.

Middletown North attempted a comeback in the fourth quarter, outscoring Jackson Township 15-11, but the deficit was too large to overcome.

Jackson Township travels to face Howell at 3:45 p.m. on Feb. 20. Middletown North travels to face Brick Township at 4 p.m. on Feb. 19.
