The New York Knicks asked a federal court to halt bootleg team merchandise sales outside Madison Square Garden, order the counterfeit goods seized, and award damages for loss of income.
Dozens of unidentified vendors and companies have been unlawfully selling merchandise bearing the federally registered trademarks outside of the basketball team’s home stadium during the 2025-2026 season, MSG Sports LLC and its subsidiary New York Knicks LLC said in a complaint. The defendants’ conduct allegedly violates the Lanham Act, New York business law, and common law prohibitions on unfair competition.
