Jaren Jackson Jr. walked onto the FedExForum floor roughly 90 minutes before a game between the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies.

The former Grizzlies big man for more than seven seasons made his rounds, hugging the familiar faces of teammates, coaches, fans and ushers. Williams and Konchar were on the floor pregame doing the same.

This was the first time the three players returned to FedExForum since being traded on Feb. 3 in an eight-player deal.

Tribute videos, standing ovations, and a postgame meetup at halfcourt made the game look like a family reunion after the Grizzlies completed a 123-114 win over the Jazz.

Jackson was unable to play after a recent surgery to address a left knee injury. Williams finished with seven points and Konchar added six.

Olivier-Maxence Prosper led the Grizzlies (21-33) with 23 points. He was one of several Grizzlies players who met up with Jackson, Konchar and Williams after the game.

“Even being against them today and talking to them during the game, it felt weird,” Prosper said. “I wish them all the best moving forward. I want them to be successful over there and keep doing their thing. They’ll always have a special place in my heart for sure.”

GG Jackson finished with 20 points on 7-for-13 shooting.

Jackson and Williams played together for more than two seasons, but Jackson noted that the two got closer in their third year. Williams stopped by Jackson’s home the night before the game and stayed for over an hour catching up on basketball and life.

“I still haven’t got used to seeing them in that jersey,” Jackson said. “I wish them all the luck, for sure.”

Jaylen Wells also hasn’t gotten use to playing against his former teammates. In fact, on one play, he said he had to catch himself when he was almost about to cheer after Konchar went up for a dunk.

“It was cool to see the videos during the timeouts,” Wells said. “Definitely a weird feeling play against them.”
