As you build your fantasy basketball lineups for tonight’s DraftKings contests, check out Zach Thompson’s top three NBA DFS stacks to target.
The NBA is back after the All-Star break! After two big slates on Thursday and Friday, Saturday night has a more focused five-game schedule for the main DFS fantasy basketball slate on DraftKings, which tips off at 7:00 p.m. ET. From the 10 teams in the player pool, the Heat, Grizzlies and Pelicans are playing for the second night in a row, while the Bulls, Knicks and Sixers turn around and will play again on Sunday. With five matchups and 10 teams on the board, let’s identify some of the best options to consider for NBA DFS stacks this Saturday. “Stacking” is the strategy of including multiple players on your fantasy roster from the same team so that they can boost each other’s fantasy production in a favorable environment.
Especially with so many back-to-backs in play and teams with varying levels of motivation to win, be sure to check out the daily injury report throughout the day, where you can keep track of who is in and who is out for this slate. Many significant names are already ruled out or are questionable, which opens potential value from the rest of the team’s roster while carrying more of the workload. Be sure to check the latest injury news before tip-off and adjust your lineup if needed.

San Antonio Spurs vs. Sacramento Kings
The Kings have dropped 15 straight games after losing by 37 to the Magic in their first matchup after the All-Star break. In those 15 games, they have allowed 121.5 points per game, the highest mark of any team over that timeframe. Opponents are shooting over 50% from the field against them during that stretch.
The Spurs are 12-3 in their last 15 games and come in with good momentum after winning on Thursday after the break for their seventh straight win. The only real risk is that this game turns non-competitive early and the starters take it easy, but even in that scenario, the Spurs should get enough production to be one of the best DFS NBA stacks on the board.
Core Plays: The big pay-up play for the Spurs is big man Victor Wembanyama ($10,700), who has a very high ceiling and a high floor as well. He has over 49 fantasy points in four of his last five games, including posting over 50 fantasy points against the Suns in a blowout win and over 65 fantasy points against the Lakers in just 26 minutes in a blowout win before the break. Former Kings star De’Aaron Fox ($7,300) has a revenge game narrative going for him against Sacramento, and Stephon Castle ($7,200) only needed 21 minutes to rack up a team-high 20 points on Thursday.
Value Options: If the game gets lopsided, there could be more minutes late for rookie Dylan Harper ($4,800), who has over 21 fantasy points in eight straight games while averaging 27.6 fantasy points per game. Luke Kornet ($4,200) came just one rebound short of a double-double on Thursday, posting 26.2 fantasy points in 16 minutes. Harrison Barnes ($4,100) will also have a chance to take it to his former team as a bargain play who usually gets minutes, but not always usage.
Philadelphia 76ers at New Orleans Pelicans
The Sixers start their back-to-back with a trip to the Big Easy, where they’ll catch the Pelicans on the second night of a back-to-back. New Orleans was without Trey Murphy (shoulder) and Yves Missi (calf) on Friday, and if they remain out or other starters join them, it could be an even juicier matchup for the Sixers. Philadelphia isn’t at 100% either since Joel Embiid (shin/knee) will miss another game and Paul George is still serving his suspension.
Without Embiid and George, more offensive work is available for the rest of the roster, creating a solid stacking chance in a favorable matchup against the Pelicans.
Core Plays: The non-Embiid Sixers rely heavily on their backcourt tandem of Tyrese Maxey ($9,700) and VJ Edgecombe ($6,900). Maxey has one of the highest ceilings of any player on the slate, while Edgecombe is a little more off-the-radar as a value play, but the latter has shown a very high ceiling. Edgecombe had 20 points, nine rebounds and 33.75 fantasy points on Thursday, and he has produced at least 33 fantasy points in half of his last six contests. If he stays aggressive, he should be in a smash spot to deliver excellent value against New Orleans.
Value Options: Without Embiid, Andre Drummond ($4,500) has stepped up with at least 31 fantasy points in three of his last four games, including 38 fantasy points on Thursday. In this great matchup against the Pelicans, he’s one of the best plays on the board at any price and position. Adem Bona ($3,300) should also get more work after racking up 25.2 fantasy points in 20 minutes on Thursday. Without George and Jared McCain (the latter traded to Oklahoma City), more space is available for Quentin Grimes ($4,400) as well. Grimes had 14 points and 20 fantasy points on Thursday and brings big upside if he is in an expanded role. Cameron Payne ($3,000) just joined the Sixers after spending the first part of the season with Serbian club KK Partizan. He played 10 minutes and handed out five assists in his debut Thursday.
Memphis Grizzlies at Miami Heat
The third option in Saturday’s NBA DFS stacks is an interesting one since the Grizzlies and Heat are both on the second night of a back-to-back. Miami plays at the fastest Pace in the NBA, making them a good place to stack against, but the Grizzlies have been so short-handed that they are a favorable matchup as well. The Heat could rest players, but whether they do or not, there is plenty of value in a Grizzlies stack on the Memphis side of things, so that’s the one we’ll focus on.
We already know Ja Morant (elbow), Zach Edey (ankle) and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (finger) will miss this game, while Santi Aldama (knee), Cedric Coward (knee), and Walter Clayton Jr. (calf) also seem unlikely after missing Friday’s game with injuries. However, Ty Jerome ($5,800) and Scotty Pippen Jr. ($4,600) missed that game due to injury management, which could put them on a path to return to action on Saturday in Miami. You’ll want to confirm the injury report for both teams before locking things in for the night, but the matchup definitely drips with value potential on both sides.
Core Plays: If Jerome and Pippen return, both will be solid plays while limiting the potential contributions of Cam Spencer ($5,300). Jerome has been especially excellent with an average of 34.7 fantasy points in only 20 minutes per game. He would be my top pick for the Grizzlies stack, followed closely by GG Jackson ($5,200), who had a second straight 20-point game on Friday, finishing with 33 fantasy points. He has over 25 fantasy points in seven of his last eight games and over 30 in three of his last four.
Value Options: Jaylen Wells ($4,500) and Kyle Anderson ($4,200) are the most recognizable value plays and bring good upside, but I prefer Taylor Hendricks ($4,000), who looked good in his first start for the Grizzlies on Friday, and Olivier-Maxence Prosper ($3,600), who is still playing on a two-way contract for now. If O-Max is available, he will likely have a big workload and a chance to build on his 23 points and 35.2 fantasy points from Friday night. In the backcourt, Javon Small ($4,000) came up large again on Friday, posting 38.5 fantasy points in 29 minutes in the Grizzlies’ win over the Jazz. He has four games with over 20 fantasy points in his last six and has a high ceiling if he can find his way to playing time again on Saturday. Jerome and Pippen returning could crowd Small a little, but there should be room given his strong results lately.
