INDIANAPOLIS — The apparently lottery-bound Pacers rested several key players on the road in their first two games after the All-Star break in a back-to-back against the Wizards in Washington on Thursday and Friday. Fans wondering how they will handle their first post-break home game Sunday at 5 p.m. against the Mavericks didn’t get clear answers from Saturday’s injury report.
All-Star forward Pascal Siakam (left hamstring injury management), starting point guard Andrew Nembhard (low back injury management) and veteran backup point guard T.J. McConnell (right hamstring soreness) are all listed as questionable with relatively minor injuries so it’s hard to tell where the Pacers might be leaning with those three key players. Rookie guard Kam Jones (low back soreness) and center Micah Potter (left ankle sprain) are also listed as questionable though both played in Friday’s loss to the Wizards.

Forward Aaron Nesmith is still listed as out with a right ankle sprain suffered in Thursday’s loss. Center Ivica Zubac is still out with a left ankle sprain initially suffered in December when he was still with the Clippers. He played most of the month of January but hasn’t appeared with thePacers since he was acquired on Feb. 5. All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton (Achilles tendon tear), forward Johnny Furphy (ACL tear) and forward Obi Toppin (right foot stress fracture) are all out with long-term injuries. Toppin could still return this season but Haliburton and Furphy are out for the year.
Two-way contract guards Quenton Jackson, Taelon Peter and Ethan Thompson are all listed as questionable for two-way reasons.
Mavericks star rookie Cooper Flagg has been ruled out for the game with a left midfoot sprain. Guard Max Christie (left ankle sprain) and center Daniel Gafford (right ankle injury management) are listed as questionable. Point guard Kyrie Irving and center Dereck Lively II are out with long-term injuries.
