BET WIZARDS (+110).
The Wizards are not a team I’m eager to back, but this spot is more about fading Indiana. Just as the Pacers appeared to be getting healthy, their injury report has grown again, creating major uncertainty. Indiana is also just 5-22 straight up on the road and 3-6 as a favorite this season.
Washington has won the last 2 meetings, including a 108-89 Dec. 14 victory as a double-digit underdog. The Wizards have been more competitive than their record suggests, going 5-5 in their last 10. With Indiana’s injury concerns and road struggles, Washington offers value at plus odds on the moneyline with a realistic chance to win outright.
PASS.
If you’d feel more comfortable taking Wizards +1.5 (-105), I understand. I’ll take the plus odds on the moneyline.
BET UNDER 231.5 (-110).
The Under is the play again Friday night. Both teams are shorthanded offensively, and Washington showed its scoring limitations Thursday with no player reaching 15 points. The Wizards have gone Under in 2 of their last 3, while Indiana has cashed the Under in 3 of its last 5 amid a lengthy injury report. This matchup has also trended low scoring, with the last 4 meetings finishing Under the total, pointing toward another defensive, grind-it-out game.
