I actually disagree with anyone who says Giannis Antetokounmpo has been confusing in his approach to his long-term future with the Milwaukee Bucks. At every turn, it’s abundantly clear that Antetokounmpo is ready to leave his first-ever NBA city, but he doesn’t want to rock the boat in Milwaukee, either. In essence, he wants to have his cake and eat it, too.

At this point, with Antetokounmpo remaining on the Bucks’ roster through at least the end of this NBA season, we’re not getting clarity about his future any time soon. At least, not until the summer, that is.

Still, it was admittedly funny to watch Antetokounmpo recently obfuscate a direct question from ESPN’s Malika Andrews about whether he’ll still be a Buck in October. He’s staying committed to the bit, folks:

Man, that is a lot of word salad coming out of the mouth of one of the greatest basketball players ever. “Will you be a Milwaukee Buck?” is a yes or no question, Giannis! Yes or no! Honestly, I’m almost impressed by how he managed to twist himself into a rhetorical pretzel anyway. Sigh. This summer can’t come soon enough.
