Joel Embiid ruled out vs. Timberwolves due to right knee injury management, shin soreness
Star center Joel Embiid has missed four straight games for the Sixers due to a combination of right knee injury management and shin soreness, and unfortunately, that streak will stretch to five on Sunday night.
Embiid has been officially ruled out of the game in Minnesota due to those same issues.

On the season, Embiid has appeared in just 31 games for Philadelphia and posted averages of 26.6 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.
The big man’s absence is bad news for a Sixers team that is desperate for a win but has struggled mightily without him this year. The Sixers are just 1-7 without Embiid in 2026.
While the Sixers will be without their starting center, the same can be said for Minnesota. Rudy Gobert will miss the game against Philly due to suspension.

The matchup between Philadelphia and Minnesota will be the first of two meetings on the season. The Sixers will also host the Timberwolves at Xfinity Mobile Arena in April.
