Guard

Stud

Cade Cunningham, Detroit Pistons vs. San Antonio Spurs ($10,500)

Cunningham is averaging 34.9 minutes and 1.43 FPTS per minute. That translates to 50 FPTS per game, so the floor is high. He’s failed to hit the threshold only 18 times this season, so in 49 games played, that equates to 36%. Cunningham is not just a floor play, though, putting up over 60 FPTS 10 times with a high of 96 FPTS. He’s a threat to triple-double on any given night, contributes defensive stats and garners a usage rate over 30%. This game should be a competitive affair, so Cunningham should see a full allotment of minutes.

Other Options: Amen Thompson ($8,200), DeMar DeRozan ($7,300), Tari Eason ($6,400)

Value

Ty Jerome, Memphis Grizzlies vs. Sacramento Kings ($6,000)

Since making his season debut seven games ago, Jerome has put up over 30 FPTS in all but one contest with a high of 43.2 FPTS. Most impressively, he did that while playing only around 20 minutes per contest. Jerome likely won’t see more playing time because Memphis has Cam Spencer, Scotty Pippen Jr. and Javon Small in the mix, but Sacramento is dead-last in defensive rating over the last 15 games, so the FPTS efficiency should continue.

Other Options: Nique Clifford ($5,400), Reed Sheppard ($4,700), Javon Small ($3,800)

Forward

Stud

Alperen Sengun, Houston Rockets vs. Utah Jazz ($9,000)

Kevin Durant has a 27.5% usage rate on the season. Over the last four games, though, that number spiked to 33.8%. Sengun’s usage rate has remained constant at 27%, but he saw two fewer shots per game over that span. I think things revert back to status quo in this one, especially since Houston should easily dispatch of Utah, so Durant won’t be asked to be Atlas. Utah is second in pace and 23rd in defensive rating over the last 15 games, so the environment should be a fantasy-friendly one. Sengun has two triple-doubles on the season and it wouldn’t surprise if he notches a third.

Other Options: Kyle Filipowski ($7,400) if he starts, Jabari Smith Jr. ($6,500)

Value

Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Memphis Grizzlies vs. Sacramento Kings ($4,600)

Memphis is employing egalitarian lineups. Good for morale but terrible for fantasy, as 10 players are receiving at least 20 minutes a night. Over the last six games, Prosper made two starts and averaged 25.7 minutes a game. He’s put up at least 23 FPTS in each of the last five games with two over 34 FPTS. Sacramento has one of the worst defenses in the league, so there will likely be a ton of opportunities for fantasy goodies.

Other Options: Keegan Murray ($5,700), Tobias Harris ($5,600), GG Jackson ($5,500), Nique Clifford ($5,400), Jaylen Wells ($4,800), Precious Achiuwa ($4,500)

Center

Stud

Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs at Detroit Pistons ($10,700)

Over the last six games, Wembanyama has played at least 30 minutes only three times, yet he’s gone over 60 FPTS three times. Wembanyama averages a robust 1.63 FPTS per minute and, not only stuffs the stat sheet, but has the ability to make a box score open the top of each statistical category and have the numbers shoot up into the sky. Detroit is a tough matchup, but that likely means it’s a competitive affair with Wembanyama playing into the mid-30s. Minutes are half the battle.

Other Options: Alperen Sengun ($9,000), Kyle Filipowski ($7,400) if he starts, Maxime Raynaud ($6,100)

Value

Paul Reed, Detroit Pistons vs. San Antonio Spurs ($5,000)

Reed won’t start or play over 30 minutes because Jalen Duren is back. That said, he’s still going to be a significant part of the rotation because Isaiah Stewart is still serving a suspension. Last game, Reed only played 19 minutes but finished with 29.8 FPTS. Reed is averaging a healthy 1.14 FPTS per minute.

Other Options: Precious Achiuwa ($4,500)
