Charlotte Hornets guard Kon Knueppel has had a fantastic rookie season. He is only 20 years old and was the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft. Knueppel played for the Duke Blue Devils last season, and he was teammates with Cooper Flagg.

Knueppel this season is averaging 19.2 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 3.5 APG with Charlotte. He is no doubt gaining attention across the NBA during his rookie season. His former teammate, Flagg is probably going to be the rookie of the year. With that being said, the summer Olympics in 2028 is not far away. The games will be played in Los Angeles, California.

There are a lot of questions about who is going to be on the Team U.S.A. roster. Flagg is most likely going to be named on the team. What are the odds that Knueppel will also make the Team U.S.A. roster in 2028 for the Olympics?

NBA Analyst Predicts That Charlotte Hornets Kon Knueppel Will Make the 2028 Olympics Team

ESPN.com analyst Zach Kram predicted what the potential roster for the U.S.A. team could look like for basketball in 2028 with the winter Olympics for 2026 now over. Kram thinks that some of the guards on the roster will be Tyrese Haliburton, Cade Cunningham, and Anthony Edwards.

He also believes that Knueppel is going to find a way onto the Team U.S.A. roster. Kram said, “Haliburton and Edwards grab the two starting backcourt spots as returning members of the 2024 roster. But the third spot goes to a new player: Knueppel. With a 43% 3-point stroke on a high volume of attempts, he’s set to be one of the NBA’s most effective shooters for years to come, and that’s a valuable skill in international play. With decent size and playmaking ability, Knueppel can also contribute in other ways beyond 3-point shooting.”

Knueppel is a very effective three-point shooter as a rookie in the NBA. He was also an effective three-point shooter when he was with Duke as well. It would be impressive if Knueppel was named to Team U.S.A. for the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, California.
