It might have something to do with how he ended up exiting the franchise, but Hall of Fame Celtics shooting guard Ray Allen sometimes does not get the love one might expect for his many accomplishments with Boston – the 2008 NBA title in particular – which has memory holed his 51-point explosion against the Chicago Bulls in the 2009 NBA Playoffs for many fans of the storied ball club.
It was an electric outing in a series the Celtics started off very much on the wrong foot, nearly finding themselves booted from the postseason by Derrick Rise back when he was healthier and a much deadlier player. The folks behind the official “Boston Celtics” YouTube channel put together a clip from that fateful game for us to watch and remember.
