Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play during All-Star Weekend, but he certainly made good use of his time by going around the locker rooms. The Milwaukee Bucks are not doing so well right now. There’s also a small chance they can improve in the near future due to their lack of a first-round pick.

The Greek Freak is looking ahead to the future, and he appears to be targeting one of the best pure scorers in the league right now — Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns.

Booker posted a recap of his All-Star Weekend experience, which included a moment with Antetokounmpo, who was bold enough to joke that they should play together.

“You make everything look cool man. But you wear a different jersey than me,” the two-time MVP was heard saying while shaking Booker’s hand.

“You could wear the same jersey as me. I’m like Isaiah Stewart, I’ll fight for you.”

The Stewart reference alludes to the Detroit Pistons‘ big man’s image as an enforcer. He has built a reputation as someone who is willing to get into literal fights to protect those he is close to. He is set to lose $724,138 in salary after getting suspended for seven games for an altercation with Charlotte Hornets players.

Booker and Antetokounmpo previously met in the 2021 NBA Finals. Antetokounmpo denied Booker and the Suns their chance to win their first title by closing out the series in six games at the Suns’ home arena in Arizona. Antetokounmpo finished with 50 points, 14 rebounds and five blocks in the closeout game, giving the Bucks their second title since 1971.

The Suns and Booker are currently in a better position than the Bucks. They look like legitimate contenders in the Western Conference, with a 32–25 record that places them seventh in the standings.

However, their recent stretch has not been ideal, as the five-time All-Star has missed two games due to a hip strain. Additionally, their second-best scorer, Dillon Brooks, is out until next month with a hand injury sustained in a win over the Orlando Magic.
