The Philadelphia 76ers will look to push their current winning streak to three games when they host the Miami Heat on Thursday night.

It will be the second meeting of the season between the two teams. The Heat pulled out a 127-117 victory over the Sixers back in November. Star center Joel Embiid didn’t play in that game, but it will likely be a different story this time around.

Joel Embiid ‘probable’ to play against Heat on Thursday night

Embiid is listed as “probable” to play against Miami on the official injury report for the contest, indicating that he should be available to play barring any late setbacks. His final status will be determined prior to tipoff.

Embiid returned for Philadelphia against the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night. He had missed the previous five games due to a combination of knee and shin soreness.

On the season, the big man has played in 32 games for Philly and put up averages of 26.6 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per performance.

The matchup between Philadelphia and Miami will be important for playoff positioning in the Eastern Conference. The Sixers enter the game sitting sixth in the East at 32-26, while the Heat (31-28) are just a game-and-a-half behind them. The two teams will also meet again in March in Miami.
