After a big debut for the Atlanta Hawks earlier in the week, former Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga followed it up with another impressive performance on Thursday night.

Making his first start for Atlanta, the former No. 7 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft had 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes, along with a plus-23 plus/minus. The Hawks took down the Washington Wizards 126-96 in the nation’s capital.

And Kuminga’s highlights were impressive, too, which shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone who has watched him in recent years.

After the game, Hawks coach Quin Snyder assessed Kuminga’s first two games with his new team.

“He’s really focused on moving the ball and being unselfish,” Snyder told reporters (h/t Zach Langley).

In Kuminga’s debut with Atlanta on Tuesday — also in a win over the Wizards — he put up 27 points, seven rebounds and four assists on 75-percent shooting in just 24 minutes off the bench.

Of course, Warriors fans will be the first to point out this isn’t the first time Kuminga has shown out over a short span. But if the talented wing, who still is only 23 years old, can keep this up in his new home, he finally could be on a quick path to reaching his long-heralded potential in the NBA.
