The Brooklyn Nets are still looking for their first win coming out of the All-Star break, but they have had a tough schedule of opponents after returning to action. Brooklyn has not only had a tough slate of opponents coming out of the break, but they have recently dealt with some injuries as well. They should be getting back their man in the middle, however.

The Nets announced on Monday that center Nic Claxton is probable for Tuesday’s game at the Miami Heat due to his right thumb sprain. Claxton was unable to play in Sunday’s 106-102 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers due to the thumb sprain, which is notable considering that he has been playing through an injury to his right pinkie finger over the past few weeks.

Assuming that Claxton is able to play on Tuesday against the Heat, the Nets will be hoping that he is more like himself given how well he has been playing this season for one of the youngest teams in the league. Claxton, 26, is averaging 12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game while shooting 59.1% from the field and 60.9% from the free-throw line.

Moving on with Brooklyn’s injury report, rookie guards Egor Demin and Drake Powell remain out of the rotation for Tuesday’s game in Miami due to their respective reasons. Demin is still having his left plantar fascia injury managed by the Nets as the season nears its close while Powell continues his assignment with the Long Island Nets, Brooklyn’s G League affiliate.

With Demin and Powell out of the lineup, head coach Jordi Fernandez will most likely start Terance Mann at the shooting guard spot next to rookie Nolan Traore while players like Josh Minott and Ziaire Williams should see more playing time coming off the bench. The Nets will play their next three games on the road with the first two being played in Miami before visiting the Detroit Pistons on Saturday.
