Jaylen Brown watched on as Derrick White and the Boston Celtics secured their 41st win of the 2025-26 NBA season on Monday, jumping to 41-20 overall after taking down Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks 108-81. Now, the Celtics will turn their attention to Wednesday’s matchup, eyeing a fourth-straight win against Kon Knueppel and the Charlotte Hornets.

Despite entering the season with many expecting Boston to land in the lottery, Brown has kept his team afloat, holding the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference. With Jayson Tatum sidelined all year due to an Achilles tear, Brown is putting together an All-NBA caliber season, averaging 29.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.0 assists per game, all career highs.

With Tatum sidelined, along with the departures of Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford and Jrue Holiday, Brown has remained one of the NBA’s most reliable players. Of the Celtics’ 61 games in 2025-26, the former California star has appeared in 54, missing just seven due to minor injuries and rest.

However, against the Bucks, Brown was sidelined with a non-COVID illness, leaving Boston without both of its All-Stars. Center Neemias Queta was also ruled out after being given a rest night by coach Joe Mazzulla. For Wednesday’s game against the Hornets, though, the Celtics left both Brown and Queta off the injury report, meaning their NBA Finals MVP is set to return to the court.

“Injury Report for tomorrow vs. CHA: Jayson Tatum – Right Achilles Repair – OUT,” the Celtics wrote on X.

Brown and the Celtics will face the Hornets on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. ET before remaining in Boston when Cooper Flagg and the Dallas Mavericks come to town on Friday.
