Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander chasing Wilt Chamberlain’s record

Oklahoma City Thunder star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has already broken Wilt Chamberlin’s record for scoring 20 points or more in consecutive road games, now he’s looking to break another.

AS A TEAM. SO HE’S GOT MORE OPPORTUNITY. I THINK HE’S MADE THE MOST OF HIS OPPORTUNITY. SHAY GILGEOUS ALEXANDER, THE FAVORITE FOR THE MVP. IF HE PLAYS ENOUGH GAMES THIS SEASON, HE’S GOT TO PLAY MOST OF THESE GAMES HERE COMING DOWN THE STRETCH. BUT IF HE PLAYS, HE’S LIKELY GOING TO BE THE MVP FOR THE SECOND YEAR IN A ROW. I JUST CAN’T SAY ENOUGH ABOUT HOW THIS GUY, THROUGH ALL THE INJURIES, NO MATTER WHAT YOU’VE TALKED ABOUT, HE’S CARRIED THIS TEAM AND HERE THEY ARE WITH EVERYTHING. THEY’RE STILL FIRST PLACE IN THE WESTERN CONFERENCE. YEAH. AND COMING BACK FROM INJURY THERE WAS NO LULL. HE WAS IMMEDIATELY HIMSELF SCORING 30 POINT GAMES EVERY SINGLE NIGHT PRACTICALLY. AND SO IT’S THAT CONSISTENCY FROM SHEA THAT YOU’RE NOT EVEN MISSING AFTER COMING BACK FROM INJURY. THAT’S SO IMPRESSIVE. WHEN YOU LOOK AT HIS GAME AGAINST THE DENVER NUGGETS, HE OUTSHONE JOKIC IN MY OPINION. AND SO THEY’RE NECK AND NECK. AND OF COURSE THAT MAKES YOU THINK THAT HE IS THE LEAD FOR THE MVP. HE’S SECOND IN THE LEAGUE IN SCORING AT MORE THAN 30 POINTS A GAME. AND HE IS ALSO CHASING WILT CHAMBERLAIN. AND THIS IS A RECORD THAT WE’VE TALKED ABOUT FOR THE LAST COUPLE OF MONTHS. AND YOU THOUGHT, YOU KNOW, MAYBE WAY ON DOWN THE ROAD THAT MAYBE HE CAN CHASE WILT IF HE STAYS HEALTHY AND IF HE STAYS CONSISTENT. WELL, HE’S DONE BOTH OF THOSE THINGS. AND IF HE GETS 20 POINTS AGAIN TONIGHT, HE’LL BE ONE AWAY FROM TYING WILT CHAMBERLAIN FOR THE CONSECUTIVE GAMES, SCORING 20 POINTS OR MORE.
