With a healthy Jayson Tatum able to play, are the Boston Celtics just as good as the Oklahoma City Thunder? The Celtics took the Thunder to the final possession of the contest on their own home court, falling just short of upsetting the reigning NBA champs. Tatum was on the bench for a reconditioning break given he is still fresh from his return to play after his rehab for the Achilles tendon injury he suffered in the 2025 NBA East Semis.
And while it is fair to say that the absence of Jalen Williams and Isaiah Hartenstein also played a role in the outcome of the game, let’s not forget that the Celtics were also without a key big man (Nikola Vucevic) and ballhandler (Derrick White) as well, leaving Boston wanting one more starting-level players than OKC. WOuld his availability made the difference in this game?
