As they limp to the end of the 2025-26 NBA season sporting the league’s third-worst record, the Kings have been hit with more unfortunate injury news.

Ahead of Sacramento’s game against the Utah Jazz on Sunday, the team revealed in a release that big man Drew Eubanks is set to undergo surgery on his hand. The eighth-year center tore his UCL in the team’s 117-109 loss to the Charlotte Hornets last week.

“Sacramento Kings center Drew Eubanks has been diagnosed with a torn UCL in his left thumb,” read the Kings’ statement. “Eubanks sustained the injury on Wednesday, March 11 versus the Charlotte Hornets. Eubanks will undergo surgery to repair the injury on Wednesday, March 18. Further updates will be provided.”

This isn’t the first time Eubanks has injured his left thumb this season, as he missed three weeks in December with an avulsion fracture on his left thumb.

In 42 appearances and 11 starts this season with the Kings, Eubanks is averaging 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds, while making 59.6 percent of his shots.

In his absence and with star center Domantas Sabonis out as well, the Kings will rely solely on rookies Dylan Cardwell and Maxime Raynaud, who each have seen increased roles as the Kings’ season fizzles to an end.
