CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Charlotte Hornets forward Grant Williams hosted a chess workshop for Littles and Bigs from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Carolinas.
It was held at the Charlotte Chess Center’s North facility Sunday morning.

Kids who participated were grouped by experience level. Even Williams himself played in some of the games to help offer encouragement.
“Through any schedule, through any time, everyone can make time to give back,” Williams says. “And it’s a blessing to be able to spend time and fellowship with not only the Bigs and Littles here today, but also to continue to provide mentorship moving forward the rest of my career and also post-NBA life as well.”
The event brought 24 mentorship matches together to help strengthen bonds, build confidence and teach critical life skills.
