The San Antonio Spurs came out on top against the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday with a win, 132-104. It was a total team effort for the Spurs, as they improved to 51-18 in the 2025-26 season. Seven players finished the game in double digits in scoring, as the team boasted the teamwork it displayed.
The Spurs had 41 assists, and second-year guard Stephon Castle led the charge with 12. However, the team’s new 3-point record is what stands out for the team. San Antonio made 25 shots from beyond the arc, which beats their previous record of 24 against the Milwaukee Bucks in January.

“We enjoy playing together,” he said. “We enjoy seeing each other succeed. So that makes sharing the ball much easier.”
Fox finished with 15 points and six assists on 60.0% shooting from deep. In his first full season with the Spurs, the former Kentucky guard has slightly improved his efficiency from deep. Last year, he knocked down 31.0% of his shots from deep. This year, the two-time All-Star is making 34.0% of his 3-pointers.

Fox earned his second All-Star appearance this season and has been one of the most important pieces for the Spurs. He’s played in 59 games, averaging 19.1 points, 3.7 rebounds and 6.3 assists.
The Spurs Are Locked In on the Playoffs
The playoffs are close, and the Spurs have established themselves as a threat in the Western Conference. They are second in the standings and will have a homecourt advantage in the postseason. Fox’s co-star, Victor Wembanyama, is looking forward to his first playoff appearance.

During the first two seasons of his career, the Spurs struggled to make noise and have successful and competitive campaigns. Although the young team knows the playoffs are near, Wembanyama wants the team to focus on the regular season. However, he can’t hide his excitement.
“It’s a lot of anticipating, but we still got to stay in the moment, attack 82 games of the regular season. … We can’t skip steps, but it’s definitely super exciting,” Wembanyama said.

There are a lot of inexperienced players in San Antonio when it comes to the postseason. Most of the young players haven’t experienced the playoff intensity. Even Fox, who has been in the league since 2017, has only made the playoffs once. Fortunately for the Spurs, other veteran players have been in said situations.
