Steve Kerr and the Golden State Warriors finally busted out of their slump on Monday. They defeated the Washington Wizards, 125-117, ending a deflating five-game losing skid.

The Warriors are back in action on Wednesday. They face a tough test against the Boston Celtics at TD Garden. This is the third contest in Golden State’s extended six-game road trip.

Head coach Steve Kerr spoke to reporters ahead of tip-off, and he shared some news on Moses Moody’s injury status. The 6-foot-5 forward has been out of action since March 2 due to a wrist injury, and there is still no firm timetable for his return.

Moody, the 14th overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft, is now in his fifth season with the Warriors. He’s in the midst of his most productive campaign for Golden State, averaging career-highs in points (11.9), rebounds (3.3), assists (1.6), three-pointers (2.5 on 40.2% shooting) and minutes per game (25.5).

Moody, however, sprained his right wrist earlier this month. He has since been out of action as the Warriors continue to deal with a concerning injury crisis.

Kerr had an unwanted update on Moody’s injury recovery. While there was some optimism that the 23-year-old would be able to return at some point in this current road trip, it now appears that Moody will remain sidelined for a longer period.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the Celtics game, Kerr revealed that Moody’s wrist sprain has healed “a little bit.” However, the four-time NBA champion coach also conceded that Moody is “not as close [as] we hoped” in terms of his return to the lineup.

Moody will miss his eighth straight game on Tuesday. The former Arkansas Razorbacks star is still wearing a brace on his right hand and has been limited to left-handed workouts.

The Warriors enter Tuesday’s matchup with a 33-35 record. As of writing, they remain ninth in the Western Conference.
