The 2025-26 season is finally over for Kentucky Basketball following a blowout defeat to 2-seeded Iowa State in the Round of 32. It was about as rocky of a season as one could possibly imagine, as the Wildcats had to overcome a mishandled roster, multiple significant injuries, Jayden Quaintance’s mysterious knee swelling that never seemed to end, Mark Pope’s substitution patterns, and one of the most difficult schedules in the country.

One might say this Kentucky team just making the NCAA Tournament and winning a game was a minor miracle. Others will point to this team’s ability to beat good teams as a sign they should have been far more consistent and not lost to the entire group of Missouri, Georgia, Auburn, and Texas A&M.
