The best spots for Dylan Harper in the 2025 NBA Draft.

Dylan Harper has established himself as one of the best prospects in the 2025 NBA Draft. The Rutgers guard has earned his spot near the top of the class.

While Cooper Flagg is the unanimous first overall pick, Harper is right behind him in consideration for teams looking for a new franchise star to build around.

Harper is the best point guard in his draft class. While there are certainly some aspects of his game that need work, he is showing the potential to be incredible.

But which team should go out of their way to land him? These are the 5 best landing spots for the young guard as he looks to become an NBA mainstay.

Dylan Harper playing for the Brooklyn Nets would be a dream scenario for both player and franchise. Harper was born in, raised in, and played his organized basketball in New Jersey.

So growing up, he would have been a fan of the Nets, who were in New Jersey for much of his childhood before moving to Brooklyn.

The fact that they are looking for a strong ball handler and scorer makes the pairing even better. Unfortunately for the Nets, while they’re the ideal landing spot, they have almost no chance of moving up enough in the draft to land Harper.

2. Toronto Raptors

Much like the Nets, the Raptors are also in need of a star guard who can carry their offense as an orchestrator.

While Immanuel Quickley has done well in the role this past year, he isn’t quite at the level to be a point guard on a contending team.

But also like the Nets, the Raptors are unlikely to have the assets to move high up enough in the NBA draft to land Harper.

3. San Antonio SpursSan Antonio Spurs Stephon Castle Named Rookie Of The YearPhoto by Ronald Cortes/Getty Images

This would be a great spot for Dylan Harper only because of the timeline. Harper would be on the same timeline as Victor Wembanyama, thus allowing the Spurs to build a contender around the pair.

However, the Spurs present a challenge for Harper. As a combo guard, Harper can play point guard or shooting guard.

Unfortunately, those are the two positions the Spurs have filled this past year, and done so quite well – trading for former All-Star De’Aaron Fox and drafting Stephon Castle, who won Rookie of the Year.

This means Harper’s playing time in San Antonio would be limited, and he might even have to accept a bench role to start his career.

4. Philadelphia 76ers

Once again, the 76ers present the same challenge for Harper as the San Antonio Spurs. The 76ers have an All-Star point guard in Tyrese Maxey.

And rookie Jared McCain was very impressive in his first NBA season prior to his injury. Having two surefire starters in the same positions you play is a tough pill to swallow for Harper.

If Harper wants to embrace the challenge, whether that’s in San Antonio or Philadelphia, he will have to do so with some impressive performances from the bench.

5. Utah JazzUtah Jazz v Denver NuggetsPhoto by Dustin Bradford/Getty Images

The Utah Jazz could be a spot where Dylan Harper might find success in his NBA career. The Jazz could try and move up the draft if they pair the right assets.

While Isaiah Collier has impressed in his role as a starting guard, and Collin Sexton has proven to be a strong veteran presence, Harper would surely be an upgrade on both players.

Add to this the strong dynamic lob threat that Walker Kessler and Lauri Markkanen present, Harper will have some strong outlets at the rim.

Perhaps Danny Ainge decides to gamble and give up future Jazz assets to land Harper in the draft. While the competition is not as stiff in Utah, he will get the chance to build something there.
