The Utah Jazz are starting the first leg of a two-game roadtrip with a matchup against the Denver Nuggets Tonight.

The Nuggets’ and Jazz’s situations could not be any more different at this point of the season. Denver, sitting fourth in the Western Conference standings any only 1.5 games behind the third seed, has successfully re-tooled around the fringes to become a serious competitor this season. Jamal Murray has blossomed into an All-Star, Tim Hardaway Jr., Cameron Johnson, and Peyton Watson have all found tremendous success in their roles, and Nikola Jokic is averaging a triple-double.

Utah, on the other hand, continues its quest to retain its draft pick this summer. Currently, the Jazz are fifth in the tank-race, only 2.5 games behind the Sacramento Kings for fourth. At this point, it is unlikely that the Jazz catch the Kings, but with Sacramento 5-5 over their last 10 games, you never know.
