When the Los Angeles Lakers wrap up their matchup against the Brooklyn Nets on Friday, March 27, the team will prepare for a potential Luka Doncic suspension once again.

During the action, Doncic had a moment with Brooklyn’s Ziarie Williams, which resulted in double technical fouls. For Luka, that marks his 16th of the season, and will result in an automatic suspension, unless the NBA rescinds it.

After Doncic and Williams exchanged words, the Lakers star is seen giving the 24-year-old former top 10 pick a slight push.

Williams retaliated quickly by hitting Doncic in the face. The situation didn’t escalate beyond that. Therefore, nobody was ejected.

However, Doncic is likely to pay the price of suspension early next week.

Nearly one week ago, Luka Doncic had a verbal on-court altercation with the Orlando Magic veteran, Goga Bitadze.

The incident went viral, as both sides claimed that statements made on the court were out of line. Following the Lakers’ 105-104 win over the Magic on March 21, LA head coach JJ Redick told reporters that they would appeal the tech.

The NBA reviewed the incident and eventually announced that Doncic would not pick up his 16th technical foul. He was eligible to begin the weekly slate by playing in the Lakers’ March 23 loss against the Detroit Pistons.

Since then, the Lakers have gone 1-1. They took on a loss against the Detroit Pistons. Doncic scored 32 points, while coming down with seven rebounds and producing six assists.

In the following game, Doncic checked in for 37 minutes against the Indiana Pacers. He shot 50.0% from the field to score 43 points. Doncic also produced six rebounds and seven assists in the 137-130 win.

Going into Friday’s action against Brooklyn, Doncic was questionable to play. Hours before the game, he was upgraded, as the setback he’s currently dealing with is minor.
