AMES — Following three seasons as a Cyclone, junior forward Milan Momcilovic has allegedly declared for the 2026 NBA Draft, per 247Sports.
After Iowa State’s 76-62 loss in the Sweet 16 to Tennessee, options are open for Momcilovic moving forward, as he averaged 16.9 points per game, shot 50% from the field and 48.6% from behind the arc in the 2025-26 season.
“I probably, definitely, [will] test the draft,” Momcilovic said to Cyclone Alert during the Big 12 Tournament. “Just because I think I’ve had a good year and shot the ball very well, that I can.”
Following the announcement Sunday morning by 247Sports, Momcilovic told the Des Moines Register that he still has not decided on the terms of his whereabouts regarding the following year in Ames.
“I’m still deciding on what to do,” Momcilovic wrote in a text message to the Des Moines Register Sunday morning. “So that’s not really true.”
As an All-Big 12 second team selection and the nation’s best 3-point shooter, Momcilovic’s decision moving forward will affect the offense scheme of the Cyclone basketball team for next year. The possibility of Momcilovic’s absence follows the graduation of five seniors, three of whom started in the Sweet 16.
With the chance of entering the draft process, depending on feedback, the 6-foot-8 Pewaukee native has the option to return to Iowa State, as he is only a junior.
“I don’t know what feedback we’ll get,” Momcilovic said. “We’ll see if I stay in or come back. That’s still to be determined.”
The NBA G League Combine in Chicago will take place from May 8 to 10, with the 2026 NBA Draft Lottery scheduled for May 10. The NBA Draft Combine in Chicago starts on May 10-17.
