WNBA star Caitlin Clark revealed this weekend that Nikola Jokic is her favorite player to watch in the NBA. His response? Vintage Joker.
“We have the same agent,” the Nuggets’ three-time MVP center said in his signature deadpan, cracking a smile at the end. “That’s why she said it.”
Indeed, Jokic and Clark are both represented by Excel Sports Management, which was founded by prominent NBA agent Jeff Schwartz, though both players have their own individual reps as well. Clark appeared as a guest Sunday on NBC’s Basketball Night in America, which was airing live on-site in Oklahoma City before a game between the Thunder and Knicks. While previewing the second game in NBC’s double-header (Denver vs. Golden State), she had high praise for Jokic.
“I mean, there’s not many people that average a triple-double,” she said. “… You’re lucky enough to get maybe a couple of those in a season. He’s done it all year long in back-to-back years. So it’s pretty incredible, and honestly, he’s probably my favorite player to watch. And I think he’s the best player in the world.”
Jokic’s response came after a 116-93 win over the Warriors later that night. He went for 25 points, 15 rebounds and eight assists, falling short of a fifth consecutive triple-double. The Serbian big man is nearing the end of his 11th season in Denver, where he has solidified himself as the most decorated second-round pick in NBA history.
Clark, 24, has been a WNBA All-Star in each of her first two seasons since being drafted with the first overall pick in 2025 by the Indiana Fever. She rose to fame during a record-breaking college career at Iowa, where she became the NCAA’s all-time leading scorer and led the Hawkeyes to two national championship game appearances.
“You run two at him, he’s gonna make the right play,” she said when asked to elaborate on her stance that he’s the best in the world. “He’s gonna find the right pass. There’s not many big players that can make the right pass, make the right read. He does it every single time, every single game. I think that’s what I love about him. Obviously, he has the scoring. But a lot of time, you go and check the box score, you watch the game, he’s taken five shots in the first half but he has 12 assists. So no matter what the other team does, he’s gonna find a way to tear you apart.”
