It was a special Tuesday night for Giannis Antetokounmpo and his family.
The Milwaukee Bucks had a major 123-99 win over the Dallas Mavericks. Antetokounmpo did not play due to a knee injury, and Ryan Rollins took charge of the game. Rollins had 24 points on 8-for-14 from the field. Kyle Kuzma also had a productive night with 20 points and three steals.
Antetokounmpo’s younger brother, Alex, played in his first official NBA game against the Mavericks. It was already a historic feat for the family, since they were the first set of three brothers to be on the same team. It became even more special when he scored his first points in the league.

Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo (34)
The NBA recognized the trio as the first sibling trio to play on the same active roster. Additionally, all three of them (Giannis, Thanasis and Alex) have scored a point this season.
Alex’s older brothers did not play, but were there to show their support. After the contest, the youngest of the three revealed his thoughts on playing in his first NBA game.
“A dream come true. Honestly, just subbing in, I was looking around,” Antetokounmpo said via The Athletic’s Eric Nehm. “Obviously, being a kid that grew up in Milwaukee, it was just kind of crazy. I’ve been to more Bucks games than I can even count, so to put on that jersey was amazing.”
Against the Mavericks, Alex had three points in three minutes.
Alex signed a two-way contract with the Bucks in October 2025. However, he’s spent more time playing for the team’s G League affiliate, the Wisconsin Herd. He has appeared in 33 games for the Herd, averaging 4.2 points and 2.6 rebounds.
Doc Rivers Revealed How Giannis Antetokounmpo Felt for His Brother
It was a moment that the entire Antetokounmpo family had been waiting for. After the contest, Bucks head coach Doc Rivers revealed that the two-time MVP was “nervous” for his younger brother.
“It’s really cool. Giannis told me his hands were sweaty, so I thought that was hilarious…He grabbed my hands and said, ‘My hands are sweating. I’m so nervous right now for my brother.’”
Kuzma also recognized the remarkable feat for his teammate’s family.
“It’s amazing, honestly, to have four brothers play in the NBA and see everybody behind them, it was a pretty special moment,” Kuzma said.
The Bucks star has another brother, Kostas, who has played in the NBA before. He was with two teams, the Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers, from 2018 to 2021.
