The San Antonio Spurs are one of the hottest teams in the NBA as they head into the final stretch of the 2025-26 regular season.

Winning nine of their last 10 games, the Spurs hold No. 2 position in the Western Conference — trailing the reigning NBA-champion Oklahoma City Thunder by 2.5 games with seven games remaining before the playoffs.

NBA guard De’Aaron Fox is a huge contributor to the Spurs’ success this season, taking a step back from his typical scoring volume to serve as a veteran leader for San Antonio’s young core — most notably for MVP candidate Victor Wembanyama.

On Tuesday, Fox was announced as one of the NBA’s 12 finalists for the Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award.

“Congrats to @swipathefox on being named a finalist for the 2025-26 Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award,” the Spurs wrote in a social media post.

Fox landed in San Antonio as part of a three-team trade with the Sacramento Kings and Chicago Bulls last season. In his first full season with the Spurs, the 28-year-old guard averages 18.6 points, 6.2 assists and 1.2 steals per game.

The annual Twyman-Stokes Teammate of the Year Award “recognizes the player deemed the best teammate based on selfless play, on and off the court leadership as a mentor and role model to other NBA players, and commitment and dedication to their team.”
