Philadelphia 76ers star Paul George says Wizards rookie forward Will Riley reminds him of himself on the court, praising him after Wednesday’s game.
Washington Wizards rookie forward Will Riley received high praise from Paul George after Wednesday’s game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The 20-year-old Riley scored 18 points in a 131-153 loss against George’s 76ers, shooting 8-of-12 from the field and hitting two of six three-point attempts.
After the game, when asked about Riley, George spoke highly of the 6’9″ forward, noting that he can do a little bit of everything on the court and reminding him of himself as a tall “skinny kid” entering the league.
“Yeah, he is good, he is good. He has got a bright future, I love his aggressivenes, I love his assertiveness. He can dribble, he can do a lot of things. You know, dribble, handle, playmake, score, he can do a little bit of everything on the court,” George said following his season-high 39 points against the Wizards, via Jarret L.
“So it’s great, great for him here, he is playing with confidence. And I see a lot of myself in him,” George added.
This season, Riley has appeared in 68 games for the Wizards, averaging 9.6 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists on 44.4% shooting from the field in roughly 21 minutes per game.
