Fresh off dropping 147 points on the Miami Heat in a historic performance, the Boston Celtics picked up where they left off against the Milwaukee Bucks in Friday night’s 133-101 blowout.
The Celtics kicked off the final leg of their four-game road trip with another fast start. After scoring a team record 53 first-quarter points in Miami on Wednesday, Boston scored 43 in the first quarter against the tanking Bucks, racing out to an early double-digit lead.
The Celtics cruised from there, winning every quarter and extending the lead as the game progressed. They finished the night with one of their biggest road wins and best offensive performances of the year.
The Celtics are outscoring the Bucks 42-18 in the paint. They had a 14-2 advantage from there in the third quarter.

Boston dominated down low, outscoring Milwaukee 56-22 in the paint. The Celtics also crushed the Bucks on the boards, outrebounding them 48-30.
As usual, Jaylen Brown led Boston in scoring with 26 points, 10 of which came at the free-throw line. Jayson Tatum and Neemias Queta both notched double-doubles, with Tatum falling just one assist shy of a second straight triple-double.
Six Celtics scored in double figures as the team improved to 52-25, maintaining a 2.5-game lead over the New York Knicks for the second seed in the Eastern Conference.
Four of Boston’s remaining five regular-season games will be at TD Garden, starting with Sunday afternoon’s showdown against the Toronto Raptors. The Celtics’ final road game will come against the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Thursday in a pivotal clash that could decide the second seed once and for all.
