According to NBA insider Marc Stein, the Blazers have been “actively exploring” the market in hopes of identifying what might be their coaching outlook after this season.
“League sources say Dundon has been actively exploring the coaching market to get a better sense of Portland’s potential options at season’s end,” Stein wrote.
Chauncy Billups has been the head coach of the Blazers over the past four seasons until the NBA placed him on an indefinite leave after his infamous involvement in the gambling scandal across the United States.
Tiago Splitter, his assistant, assumed interim coaching duties. Under the lead of the former Brazilian big man, the Blazers are projected to have a winning season for the first time since 2020-21.
They are set to enter the Play-In Tournament, holding the ninth-best record in the West with a 40-38 record.
With the rise of Deni Avdija and the looming return of Damian Lillard from his Achilles recovery, the Blazers are certainly one of the most intriguing teams to watch next 2026-27 season.
