When the Denver Nuggets took on the San Antonio Spurs over the weekend, they were hit with another concerning setback during the game.
Bruce Brown left the matchup as he was dealing with a suspected ankle injury. At this point, it’s been confirmed that Brown is battling an ankle sprain.

The Nuggets’ injury report listed Brown as probable for Monday’s action. Barring any unexpected changes, Brown should be good to compete against Portland.
Brown might’ve returned to the court against the Spurs on Saturday, but an NBA rule made him ineligible. Without the standout reserve, the Nuggets managed to close to out the game with a win over San Antonio. The victory was behind a strong Nikola Jokic outing.
Jokic checked in for 44 minutes. He scored 40 points on 13-25 shooting from the field, and hit on 1-5 threes. The star center produced a double-double with 13 assists, and came down with eight rebounds.
When Brown left the game, he had just 11 minutes played. The veteran shot 2-7 from the field and scored five points. He also had one assist, one steal, and two rebounds before getting ruled out.
Brown’s Second Stint With The Nuggets

Over the offseason, Bruce Brown re-signed with the Nuggets years after winning a championship with them.
During the 2024-2025 NBA season, Brown started the year with the Toronto Raptors. He was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in February 2025.
Back in July, Brown inked a one-year deal with the Nuggets. This season, Brown has averaged 24.3 minutes on the court. He is shooting 47.0% from the field and hitting on 39.0% from three. The veteran guard is producing 7.8 points per game and coming down with 3.8 rebounds per game.
Barring any last-minute changes, the Nuggets should have Brown in the lineup once again on Monday. The Nuggets and the Blazers are scheduled for a 9 PM ET tip.
