The Brooklyn Nets recently picked up a 96-90 win over the Milwaukee Bucks at Barclays Center, but Antetokounmpo did not play in that game. His status also remains uncertain for the next meeting between the two teams in Milwaukee.
However, the bigger story may be what happens in the summer.
“They’ll [Nets] make calls,” a source told The New York Post’s Brian Lewis. “They’ve made calls in the past.”
The Nets have quietly stayed ready for a move like this. Since 2023, the front office led by Sean Marks has kept flexibility, holding onto draft picks and assets that could be used in a major trade.

Antetokounmpo’s situation is one to watch closely. He will be eligible to sign a four-year $275 million extension in October. If he waits, he could become a free agent after the 2026-27 season. That timeline could also push Milwaukee to explore trade options before then.
Even with all the noise, Antetokounmpo continues to perform at a high level.
In 36 games this season, he is averaging 27.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 5.4 assists. He is also shooting 62.4 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from three.
